With this being the client’s first restaurant, our expertise and experience were needed to make this project work. The kitchen needed a full refurbishment, mechanical and electric works carried out with new equipment installed.

About Bardo St James
Bardo St James, located in the newly refurbished Kinnaird House offers traditional but unique Italian cuisine. Accompanied by the lavish interiors to leave an unforgettable impression, the restaurant features a walk-in wine cellar, whisky room, private dining, an intimate lounge, and a long marble bar.
The Solution
The complete strip out of the kitchen had to be done first to allow construction workers to remove walls to make the space available work to the design and flow of the new kitchen. After this, the installation went in three phases.
First was the installation of the Electrolux cooking suite. The cook suite was installed into the kitchen to provide efficient and productive cooking. Featuring high power induction tops, not only helping reducing the temperature of the kitchen, but making it a better working environment. The suite was also fitted with pasta cookers, open burners and gas-solid tops to allow for menu flexibility and Italian cooking styles. All the other equipment had to be delivered to the basement and installed around the cook suite due to space limitations.
The preparations areas featured counters that are stainless steel fabrication and are fully sealed to give maximum hygiene. One of the counters contains a fully bespoke marble worktop built into the fabrication. All worksurfaces are smooth and flush to stop contamination between chefs. The internal of cupboards were rounded, meaning they are easy to clean and eliminate dirt traps.
Part of our design was the front of house pizza oven for added theatre in the restaurant with clear views of the wood fired oven throughout. Additional equipment featured dough needers and fridges.

Our project management and advice was crucial for making this kitchen installation run smoothly and without delay.
The new kitchen allows staff to work efficiency and without issue. Being able to cook authentic dishes from their menu, with the flexibility to alter or add seasonal dishes to.
