The Project
We were approached by the clients interior fit-out contractor to relocate and install a compact commercial kitchen within a new office building in St. Paul’s, London. This project was part of a larger-scale commercial office fit-out encompassing seven floors in Holborn.
A key component of the brief was to repurpose existing catering equipment from a partner company. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, we conducted a comprehensive maintenance service on the equipment, extending its lifespan and enhancing its efficiency for the new kitchen team.
One of the main issues site faced was that there was no possible route for extraction to atmosphere ventilation. Therefore we proposed a Corsair recirculation system which included G4 particulate filter, stage 5 activated carbon filters, H10 HEPA filer and pocket filter units, all helping to reduce fire risk and odour nuisance from the kitchen ventilation.
Half-way through the main building refurbishment, the kitchen location was moved entirely to be able to accommodate the recirculation system.
This was the best solution for the client because it required no ductwork, meaning it was quick to install with zero disruption to the main building.
Equipment that was relocated and installed included a Bonnet combi oven, griddle and induction hob, dishwasher and a brand new utensil washer.
To complete the kitchen, we also incorporated new flooring, whiterock walls, ceiling, an Ansul fire suppression system, and bespoke fabrication.
